Whitehall 9400 is inspired by WW2 Love Letters that Daisy inherited. In 2019, Daisy began the research and development of a solo work in response to the letters. A work in progress was performed in February 2020 at Trinity Laban’s alumni sharing platform, Bite Size Pieces. Daisy received fantastic feedback from the sharing and began making plans to develop the work.
Then the UK went into lockdown…
In lockdown, Daisy began experimenting with new ways of creating work and adapted some of the solo movement material to create a dance film in a WW2 Anderson Shelter.
Daisy shot and edited the film to bring a new perspective to the narrative. She worked with musician/ composer Aleph Aguiar who created a score for the final edit.
