Seeking 3 Dancers

Daisy Farris Dance Collective is seeking to recruit 3 dancers to take on the role of 2nd Cast for their latest production, These 4 Walls. We are particularly interested in hearing from dancers who graduated between 2020-2022. 

These 4 Walls was originally created in 2021, DFDC have now received funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, to develop These 4 Walls in 2022, with the view of touring the work in 2022/23. As we prepare for touring, we wish to have a 2nd cast learn the show, to allow for more flexibility with tour dates. Dancers will be learning roles as well as being part of the devising process. 

Dates: Interviews: w/b 11th July on Zoom Rehearsals: Monday 25th- Friday 29th July (afternoons/ evenings) + half day Saturday 30th July

Fees: £500 

Experience: 

● Strong contemporary dance training 

● Confidence improvising and devising movement material 

● Excellent collaborative/ teamwork skills 

● Ability to learn and embody movement material quickly 

● Self motivated approach to working

The performance takes the audience on an emotive journey, through the highs and lows of lockdown, in which the viewer can reflect on their own experience. Seeking Freelance Producer

Daisy Farris Dance Collective is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Producer on a freelance basis. The Producer will play a vital role in taking our latest work, These 4 Walls, on tour. 

Daisy Farris Dance Collective boldly reimagines untold and forgotten stories by bringing history to life in public settings. Our aims are: 

  • To make contemporary dance accessible, performing in community venues, outdoor spaces, museums, galleries and exciting site-specific locations. 
  • To amplify women’s stories and celebrate the forgotten history of ordinary people.
  • To involve communities in our work by inviting local people to participate in the creative process and performances.

The Producer will: work closely with the artistic director and the creative team in planning future touring opportunities for These 4 Walls.

Essential skills/ knowledge:

  • Tour booking- both within theatre venues and also site specific locations, festivals and unusual performance spaces. 
  • Bid writing (specifically they should be familiar with the new format for Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants).
  • Fundraising and writing budgets.
  • Experience initiating partnerships with schools/ arts organisations/ local councils and community groups etc.

Fee: £1000 for initial period ( based on 5 days of work) with the view to negotiate future fees.
